Better than happy
If I give you one wish you will probably want money, fame, or of course- happiness.
Happiness is a very strong need for humans, to feel good, to be loved, and to be happy.
Happiness is a weird thing, it changes quickly, yeah it’s good, but how often have you seen someone waiting for something with such joy, and in one second his smile turns into a frown?
Happiness comes and goes, it’s an amazing feeling, you are feeling the luckiest men in the world. But every second it can go away. So it’s not the best thing to have.
Happiness comes from a lot of things: a gift, a paycheck, a partner, or something you love to do.
At this point, I would love to introduce to you the thing that is better than happiness- Meaning.
Corny right? So no, I don’t think so, happiness comes and goes, But if you have a strong sense of meaning that you can hold on to, you will stay happy or at the very least feel good about yourself.
If you still don’t get it let me tell you a story: Bob is a person, he works as a copywriter and he hates his job, he makes 10K$ a month but he suffers so much, every morning he just want to stay in bed and do anything but working at this crappy job.
Jack is working at a local library, he makes only 2K$ a month but he loves his job, he senses that helping others find the information that’s important to them inside of books is an amazing thing and it makes Jack happy.
Who do you think wants to wake up in the morning for his job and purpose? Of course Jack.
Let’s admit it: life is full of bad things, and you suffer 70% of the time, but the good part is this:
If you have a strong meaning, and you want to deal with all the hard things that waiting out there to fulfill it, you are undefeatable.
Happiness will gone when things are hard, but as long as you have purpose and meaning, you will stay on track.
Find what’s meaningful to you, and keep it close to your heart.
